ABOUT MY YEAR IN KENYA
My name is Sofia Oudri, and I am a fourth year student at Andrews University. This school year I will be serving in the Olmalaika Trust located in Narok county, which is within the Maasai Mara Reserve in Kenya! The Trust is a non-profit home for girls who have suffered female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage, as well as babies and toddlers who have been abandoned. Each of these children has their own story, and the dream of this organization is to get all of them either back to a safer family environment or relocated through foster care or adoption! My role this year is to help in the daily tasks and care of the Trust and the girls themselves, as well as teaching at the school down the road. Follow along as I document this year's experiences!
